Make your own homemade buttermilk ranch dressing mix using a few dried spices. Have fresh ranch dressing in minutes!

Ingredients

Ranch Seasoning:

  • 1 tbsp dried buttermilk powder
  • 1/2 tbsp dried parsley
  • 3/4 tsp dill weed
  • 1/2 tbsp dried chives
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tbsp minced onion (dried)
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Ranch Dressing:

  • 1/4 cup water (if not using buttermilk powder, use ½ cup buttermilk)
  • 1/2 cup full-fat Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a mortar.
  2. Using your pestle, stir in a circular motion to grind and blend the herbs and spices.
  3. Continue to grind until all ingredients become a fine seasoning.
  4. Store in an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place until ready to use.

To make ranch dressing

  1. In a small bowl, combine buttermilk and Greek yogurt.
  2. Carefully whisk together until the liquid becomes smooth. Add more Greek yogurt to create a thicker dressing or dip.
  3. Add 1 tbsp of ranch seasoning.
  4. Gently stir together until blended.
  5. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
